GREGORIO SCHNEIDER

Founding Partner and Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

 

Gregorio Schneider is the co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of TC Latin America Partners. He has more than 25 years of experience in emerging markets, investing in both the public and private markets through a variety of assets and strategies, including debt, equity, distressed assets and real estate.

Prior to forming TC Latin America Partners, Mr. Schneider was Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets at Och-Ziff Capital Management. During his tenure at Och-Ziff, Gregorio was responsible for building the firm’s capabilities, strategic relationships and investment portfolio in Latin America and Eastern Europe.

Before joining Och-Ziff, Mr. Schneider was the Portfolio Manager responsible for Emerging Markets special situations investments at The Rohatyn Group. He also worked at Spinnaker Capital, Crédit Agricole Indosuez and the real estate division of Banamex.

Mr. Schneider has served on the boards of various Latin American companies and has been recognized by the World Economic Forum for his work with developing countries. He is a member of the Board of Qualitas of Life Foundation, The Proviváh Donor Fund and the Tamer Center for Social Enterprise at Columbia Business School. He is also a member of the EMPEA Latin America Council and the LAVCA real estate council.

Gregorio holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and received a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in Mexico City.

DANIEL GRUNBERG

Founding Partner and Managing Director

 

Daniel Grunberg is the co-founder and Managing Partner of TC Latin America Partners. He has more than 25 years of experience negotiating and implementing legal and financial structures in emerging markets.

Prior to forming TC Latin America Partners, Mr. Grunberg, alongside Gregorio Schneider, was a member of the Emerging Markets group at Och-Ziff Capital Management. Since the creation of the group, he helped to manage and structure the real estate investments of Och-Ziff in Turkey, Peru and other markets. Prior to joining Och-Ziff, Mr. Grunberg worked alongside Mr. Schneider at The Rohatyn Group, where he managed, structured and executed transactions in Latin America.

Prior to joining The Rohatyn Group, Daniel was General Counsel at Sojitz Corporation of America, a global Japanese trading company with offices and operations across Latin America. While at Sojitz, he was involved in the management of a private debt and equity portfolio that included real estate assets in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and the United States. Before joining Sojitz, Mr. Grunberg was Executive Director of Illinova Generating Company (now Dynergy), where he developed power generation projects in Colombia, Dominican Republic, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. He was a member of the board of directors of Termoflores, a power plant in Barranquilla, Colombia.

Daniel holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, where he was a Fulbright Scholar, a Master in Law from Fordham University and a Master of Philosophy from New York University. He also holds a law degree from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Venezuela, and a bachelor’s degree in Literature from Universidad Central de Venezuela.

LUIS A. SANTANA

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

 

Luis A. Santana is the Chief Financial Officer of TC Latin America Partners. In his role, Mr. Santana oversees all aspects of fund structuring, financial operations, accounting, tax, treasury, valuation and investor reporting for the Firm.

Luis has 13 years of experience in the legal and financial structuring of private equity funds and investments in the United States and Latin America.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2015, Mr. Santana was a member of the private equity funds group at Och-Ziff, where he was involved in the structuring and valuation of private investments, as well as the administration of the firm’s private equity funds.

Luis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance from CUNY Baruch College in New York, where he graduated with honors, and is pursuing a Master of Science degree in Finance at Johns Hopkins University.

CHRISTOPHER NAVAS

Financial Controller

 

Christopher Navas is the Financial Controller of TC Latin America Partners. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Navas was Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), where he worked for two years in PwC’s investment funds practice in New York and six years in the audit practice in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico and is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Puerto Rico.

JOHANNA GASTÓN

Associate

 

Johanna Gastón is an Associate at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for treasury and internal controls.

Before joining the Firm in 2015, she worked for three years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), as an associate for the audit division for investment funds in New York.

Johanna holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Accounting from CUNY Baruch College.

FELIPE CROITORU

Senior Analyst

 

Felipe Croitoru is a Senior Analyst at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the executive team in portfolio management, investor relations, fundraising and business development.

Prior to joining the Firm, he worked at a Colombian-based private equity firm, MAS Equity Partners, where he managed the investment pipeline and analyzed the feasibility of new investment opportunities.

Felipe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

GABRIELA AIRALDI

Vice President

 

Gabriela Airaldi is a Vice President at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Peru.

Prior to joining the Firm, she worked at the IFC World Bank Group as an investment analyst for the Andean region, executing debt and equity investments and managing portfolio projects. Prior to the IFC, Gabriela worked as a corporate finance analyst at Credicorp Capital regional investment bank with presence in Chile, Colombia and Peru structuring loans for corporate clients.

Gabriela holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru and has passed CFA Level I.

WALLY REVILLA

Senior Analyst

 

Wally Revilla is a Senior Analyst at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Peru.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Revilla worked as senior investment analyst in the infrastructure team at AC Capitales SAFI, a Peruvian investment fund manager, where he was involved in the underwriting and transaction execution of investments in Peru and Colombia. Prior to AC Capitales, Wally worked as an investment banking analyst at Apoyo Consultoría, a Peruvian consulting company, and as a financial analyst in H2Olmos, an Odebrecht concession.

Wally holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Universidad de Piura in Lima, Peru.

ALEJANDRO LEÓN-PRADO

Analyst

 

Alejandro León-Prado is an Analyst at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Peru.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. León-Prado worked as senior analyst in Sigma Capital, a Private Equity Fund focused on local infrastructure assets, where he was involved in transaction executions and asset management.

Alejandro holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad de Lima in Lima, Peru.

DANIELA ALBERDI

Analyst

 

Daniela Alberdi is an Analyst at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Peru.

Prior to joining the Firm, she worked as a corporate finance analyst at Ernst & Young, company which provides advisory and audit services, where she was involved in the elaboration and audit of financial models of several sectors.

Daniela holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico in Lima.

ANDRÉS ESCOBAR

Managing Director

 

Andrés Escobar is the Managing Director of TC Latin America Partners for the office in Colombia. He brings over 17 years of experience in the real estate sector, where he has worked for various international funds, such as JER Partners in Mexico City and RREEF in London.

Prior to joining the Firm, he worked for eight years at Inverlink Estructuras Inmobiliarias, one of the most important real estate funds in Colombia. At Inverlink, Mr. Escobar served as the General Manager and Director of the Real Estate Fund, where he led multiple transactions in different asset types, particularly corporate and industrial. Mr. Escobar began his career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at J.P. Morgan in New York.

Andrés holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Georgetown University.

GABRIEL BENITEZ

Vice President

 

Gabriel Benitez is a Vice President at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Colombia.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Benitez worked as a director in the finance and investments team of Related Group (Miami), in charge of the structuring and capitalization of real estate development projects in the United States, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate in Hines (Atlanta), focusing on land acquisitions and structuring real estate development projects across the Southeast (United States). Gabriel began his career with Accenture as a Consultant in the Strategy group based out of the Atlanta office.

Gabriel holds an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with majors in finance and real estate, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated with honors.

ALEJANDRO RUIZ

Vice President

 

Alejandro Ruiz is a Vice President at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Colombia. He brings over 15 years of experience in the real estate sector and has structured projects that exceed US$650 million in investment.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Ruiz was Director of Business Development at Apiros, a large developer in Colombia, where he was responsible for sourcing and structuring real estate investment opportunities across all asset types. Prior to Apiros, he worked at Grupo Gradeco, Construcciones Arrecife and Grama Construcciones, where he specialized in project management and project financing. Additionally, Mr. Ruiz is an Associate Professor of the Engineering Faculty at Universidad Javeriana.

Alejandro holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, where he graduated with honors.

DANIEL GÁFARO

Vice President of Construction
and Project Management

 

Daniel Gáfaro is the Vice President of Construction and Project Management of TC Latin America Partners. He brings over 15 years of experience in the construction sector and has developed and supervised institutional real estate projects that exceed US$500 million in investment.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Gáfaro was project manager at Proksol, a real estate developer in Colombia. Prior to that, he worked at CCE Inc., where he was responsible for the execution of institutional real estate projects for the US Army in Colombia, Peru and Honduras.

Daniel holds an M.B.A. from Universidad de la Sabana Inalde Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. Daniel is a Certified Project Manager from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

FELIPE POSADA

Associate

 

Felipe Posada is an Associate at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Colombia.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Posada worked at Itaú Colombia leading a corporate credit team and analyzing loans and structured projects for the largest companies in the country. Prior to Itaú, he was part of the Grupo Bolívar trainee program, where he worked for different companies of the conglomerate.

Felipe holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, Colombia, where he graduated with honors.

DIEGO GÓMEZ

Senior Analyst

 

Diego Gómez is a Senior Analyst at TC Latin America Partners. Mr. Gómez joined TC’s trainee program in 2015 and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Colombia.

FRANCISCO COVARRUBIAS

Partner and Managing Director

 

Francisco Covarrubias is a Partner of TC Latin America Partners and the Managing Director of its Mexico City office. He brings over 20 years of financial, operational, legal and real estate experience in the United States and Latin America.

Prior to the opening of TC Latin America Partners’ office in Mexico City in 2014, Mr. Covarrubias worked for over seven years at Kimco Realty Corporation, where he was responsible for business development and portfolio management of Kimco’s Latin American division. While at Kimco, he worked on the underwriting and asset management of a 500,000-square meter retail portfolio that exceeded US$600 million in investment.

Before Kimco, Francisco held several business development and financial planning positions at Dell, Inc. Earlier in his career, he worked at the law offices of Ritch, Heather & Mueller in Mexico City, where he specialized in M&A, private equity and real estate law.

Francisco holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a law degree from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

JULIANA SOTO

Vice President of Business Development
and Investor Relations

 

Juliana Soto is the Vice President of Business Development and Investor Relations of TC Latin America Partners. Ms. Soto has worked for the Firm since 2012, based out of TC’s local offices in Bogota, New York and Mexico City. During her seven years at TC, she has been responsible for the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments and is currently involved in corporate matters such as investor relations, fundraising, business development and operations.

Prior to joining the Firm, she worked for the investment banking division of Banco Santander in Bogotá, and for Inverlink, a Colombian investment banking boutique firm.

Juliana holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Finance and Investments from New York University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Colegio de Estudios Superiores de Administración (CESA) in Bogota, Colombia, where she graduated with honors.

ANTONIO BAEZ

Vice President

 

Antonio Baez is a Vice President at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Mexico.

Prior to joining the Firm in 2015, Mr. Baez worked for eight years as a relationship and financial manager at Grupo Frisa, a well-known industrial and commercial real estate developer in Mexico. During his time at Grupo Frisa, he closed over US$450 million in transactions of commercial, industrial, residential and mixed-use assets. Antonio was directly involved in negotiating several joint ventures with local and international partners and participated in the development of more than 20 projects totaling 1.2 billion plus square meters.

Mr. Baez started his career in Banamex Citigroup, where he worked in the corporate and private banking divisions, managing investment portfolios for HNW individuals and corporate clients.

Antonio holds an M.B.A. from Universidad del Valle de Mexico and a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) in Finance with a major in corporate finance, from Escuela Bancaria Comercial in Mexico City.

ALFONSO SÁNCHEZ

Analyst

 

Alfonso Sánchez is an Analyst at TC Latin America Partners and is responsible for supporting the investment team in the underwriting and asset management of portfolio investments in Mexico.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Sánchez worked for Prologis, a Real Estate Investment Trust (­REIT)­ focused on industrial assets, where he was part of the capital deployment group. At Prologis, he was responsible for the financial analysis of new projects; he also supported the team in the execution of portfolio transactions and managed Mexico’s investment pipeline.

Alfonso holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and a pre-MBA diploma from Harvard Business School.
